Health challenges impact the well-being and livelihoods of many of people of all ages across the country. While progress has been made in improving access to healthcare, there are still many health challenges that stop residents from getting the care that they need. TWICO is committed to addressing these challenges and improving the healthcare outcomes.
a) Strategies i. Address the health problems afflicting the population residing in the targeted regions by providing accessible, affordable and quality health care and availing information with regard to the health needs of the communities ii. House hold-centered and health promotion approaches that link the Organization with Cancer and HIV-affected families, Malaria and TB and strengthening community structures which protect and promote healthy human development such as churches, child area advisory councils/ committees iii. Social support including vocational training, income generating activities, social & legal protection and prevention services including positive behavior counseling. iv. Undertake initiatives that reduce HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Cancer and other communicable diseases v. Fund raising
b) Key activities i. HIV & AIDS, Malaria and TB awareness, counseling, support innovative programmes in orphans and vulnerable children and home based health care (HBC) for the HIV affected ii. Awareness creation through electronic media and outreach programs iii. Proposal writings for funding to support establishment of medical health facilities (Labs ) and capacity building
